IDAHO FALLS — Idaho Falls Police arrested Jerry R. Bolland, 35, for attempted strangulation, aggravated assault and felony no contact order violation Wednesday, Sept. 10.

Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of West Broadway for a physical domestic in progress around 8 p.m.

The reporting party said Bolland choked and hit a 33-year-old woman and attempted to get her into a truck against her will. The female got away and Bolland nearly ran her over with the truck, said police spokeswoman Joelyn Hansen.

The reporting party observed the dispute while at a stoplight and saw the 35-year-old grab the female passenger by her arm and hitting and choking her.

Officers made contact with Bolland and the victim in an alley just off of West Broadway where they observed the Idaho Falls man grabbing the victim by the arm.

Both Bolland and the female have a no contact order between them and the suspect has no prior contact order violations within the last five years.

The Idaho Falls man was also cited for driving without privileges.

Bolland is currently being held at the Bonneville County Jail with no bond. No court date has been scheduled at this time.
