The teenagers allegedly shot at several cars and pedestrians on Arizona State Route 24 Saturday afternoon and evening, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Arizona Department of Public Safety Director Frank Milstead said at a news conference on Sunday.

Milstead says the string of shootings is no laughing matter, and kids shouldn’t be fooling around while the suspects are still at large.

“None of this is fun and games,” said Milstead. “It’s all very very serious and none of us should have to drive the freeways or any roadway and worry about people just randomly shooting items at our vehicles.”

Eleven vehicles have been shot at in the past two weeks shattering windshields and damaging cars. So far, only a 13-year-old girl has been injured.

Milstead told ABC News earlier this week that it’s unclear whether all of the incidents are related and also unclear whether all incidents involved bullets.

Milstead classified the incidents as “domestic terrorism.” He called the suspect or suspects cowards who are putting innocent lives at risk.
