BYU-Idaho reaches largest enrollment in university history

REXBURG — Brigham Young University-Idaho is experiencing the largest total enrollment in its history, the university reported Thursday, Oct. 22.

Statistics released for Fall Semester 2015 show a total campus enrollment of 17,562 students, an increase of 8.4 percent over last fall’s campus enrollment of 16,193, according to a news release. This semester the campus student body consists of 8,284 male students and 9,278 female students, (47.2 percent and 52.8 percent respectively). The number of married students is 4,081, comprising 23.2 percent of the total campus student population.

Enrollment in BYU-Idaho’s online courses and degree programs is also growing rapidly, with the university continuing to serve more students off campus than on campus. The number of online students, including the Pathway program, for Fall Semester 2015, is 25,189, an increase of 33.5 percent compared to this time last year. For Fall Semester 2014 the number was 18,874.
