The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.

INKOM — Michael Havens, 38, of West Valley, Utah, was killed on Interstate-15 near mile marker 55, south of Inkom late on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
Idaho State Police report officers responded to the accident at 11:24 p.m., according to a news release.

Talysha Wing, 25, of West Valley, Utah, was driving north on I-15 in a 2003 GMC pickup pulling a thirty-foot trailer when she reportedly fell asleep at the wheel. Wing woke up and over-corrected, steering into the median and across the highway into the southbound lanes. The pickup and trailer overturned, and blocked the entire southbound lanes.

Wing was wearing a seatbelt and her two-month old child was in a child safety seat, but not restrained. Both were taken by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center.

Havens was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The southbound lanes were blocked for approximately two hours. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police with assistance from Bannock County Sheriff’s Office and Search and Rescue.
