UPDATE: Rollover wreck on U.S. Highway 20 ends in drug arrest

UPDATE

The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.

On Monday, March 28, 2016, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle crash on US20 at milepost 318, near Ucon.

A 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by Serena Zahrn, 19 of Rigby, was eastbound when she went through the median and crossed the westbound lanes of traffic before her vehicle rolled. Zahrn was wearing her seatbelt and was treated and released from Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Zahrn is currently in custody at the Jefferson County Jail for possession of drug paraphernalia with additional charges pending.

The crash remains under investigation.

ORIGINAL STORY

RIGBY — At least one person was rushed to the hospital following a rollover accident on U.S Highway 20.

Just before 10 a.m. Monday, a car rolled onto the right shoulder of the southbound side of the highway near the County Line Road exit. The vehicle was traveling northbound when it crossed the median, into the southbound lane then rolled several times on the shoulder causing damage to about 100 feet of fence.

Witnesses said officers had to break a window to help a trapped person out of the car.

Idaho Falls Fire Department transported at least one person to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Also responding to the wreck were Jefferson and Bonneville county sheriff’s offices as well as Central Fire District and the Rigby Quick Respond Unit. Idaho State Police was tasked with investigating the accident.
