POCATELLO — Citing serious health problems, Bannock County Commission Chairman Howard Manwaring is resigning effective April 18.

At a press conference Wednesday morning announcing his resignation, Manwaring thanked the people of Bannock County for allowing him to serve them.

Manwaring said he has notified Gov. Otter to begin the appointment process for a replacement. The governor will decide who replaces Manwaring.

“There are some really good people out there,” Manwaring said about potential replacements.

Manwaring’s been on the county commission for six years.
