Vehicle vs pedestrian accident briefly slows traffic on 17th street

IDAHO FALLS — A man crossing 17th street on a gas powered scooter was struck by a passing vehicle on Thursday.

Idaho Falls Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene of the accident at 1 p.m. to check him out and clean up split gas.

Idaho Falls police spokeswoman said the man was uninjured. No on e was transported from the scene.

While police investigated the scene, traffic traveling East on 17th street was reduced to one lane.

An Idaho Falls teen, who was driving the car, was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
