One man dead after two vehicle crash near Fort Hall

The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.

FORT HALL — Idaho State Police are investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash on U.S. Highway 91 at the intersection of Ballard Road near Fort Hall.

The accident occurred just before 11 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release.

Anthony Jim Jr., 38, of Fort Hall was traveling eastbound on Ballard Road in a Pontiac Grand Am when he failed to stop at a stop sign. Upon entering the intersection on Highway 91, Forrest Watkins, 56, of Pocatello, who was traveling southbound in a Dodge Intrepid, struck Jim’s vehicle.

Watkins and a female passenger in Jim’s vehicle were transported via ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. Jim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Both lanes of travel were blocked for approximately four hours.

Watkins was the only one wearing a seatbelt.

This crash is currently under investigation by Idaho State Police.
