Man killed in auto-pedestrian accident in Idaho Falls

IDAHO FALLS — A 67‐year‐old man was killed in an accident Tuesday night on West Broadway in Idaho Falls, police say.

Joseph Anderson, of Jackson, Wyoming, has been identified as the man killed.

Officers responded to the 1500 block of West Broadway around 7:15 p.m. for a report of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian.

According to a witness, the man ran from the sidewalk heading south across Broadway. Police say he was struck by a black Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by a 22‐year‐old Blackfoot man, in the westbound inside lane.

The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

This accident is still under investigation.

IDAHO FALLS — At least one person was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a car on Broadway on Tuesday.

The Idaho Falls Fire department and Idaho Falls Police responded to a report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian around 7 p.m. in front of the Arby’s restaurant.

Witnesses tell EastIdahoNews.com that a man was crossing Broadway, not in a crosswalk, and while doing so was hit by a black two-door car.

The condition of the man hit is unknown as well as the cause of the crash. The front and back windows on the vehicle were significantly damaged.

Multiple attempts to reach the Idaho Falls police were unsuccessful. We will update this article with more information as it becomes available.
