GO FISH: IDFG opens Dry Bed Canal to fish salvage

  Published at  | Updated at

The following is a news release from the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.

Idaho Fish and Game issued a salvage order for the Dry Bed Canal on the South Fork Snake River on Wednesday.

The salvage, which suspends fish bag, possession, and size limits only on the Dry Bed canal, is effective Nov. 2 through Nov. 30.

The stretch of the canal covered by this salvage order runs from the U.S. Highway 48 bridge (between Lewisville and Menan, near the Idahoan Fresh Pack Plant) upstream to the Great Feeder Canal irrigation headgate near Ririe.

To take advantage of the salvage order, anglers must have a valid fishing license. With the exception of firearms, explosives, chemicals, prohibited bait and electricity, fish may be taken with any method, including seines and dip nets.
