The following is a news release from the Idaho Transportation Department.

RIGBY — The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) reminds drivers that parking is prohibited along U.S. 20 north of the Lorenzo Bridge. Sports enthusiasts should access the Snake River from the new river access on the west end of 6800 South (formerly River Bridge Road). 6800 South is accessible from the Archer Highway.

ITD permanently closed River Bridge Road (Archer access) just north of the Snake River on northbound U.S. 20 this spring, in connection with constructing the Thornton Interchange. Parking on roadsides and in barrow pits of controlled-access Idaho highways is prohibited by state law.

Recreationists may access the south side of the Snake River from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management boat access located along the river about half a mile west of U.S. 20. They can reach the boat access by exiting U.S. 20 at the Menan-Lorenzo Interchange (Exit 325) and proceeding west on the Menan Highway to the boat access road, then turning north to the access.
