The following is a news release from the American Red Cross of Greater Idaho.

IDAHO FALLS — The American Red Cross of Greater Idaho is pleased to announce that our third annual East Idaho Real Heroes event will take place on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Idaho Falls. The event celebrates individuals whose extraordinary actions designate them as heroes— everyday people who have put themselves in harm’s way or have risked their lives to save another.

“We have already received several nominations for our East Idaho Real Heroes awards, but we encourage the public to submit additional nominations before January 8, 2017,” says Christopher Davis, Regional Chief Development Officer for the American Red Cross of Idaho and Montana. “If there are any citizens from Eastern Idaho who deserve recognition for a heroic act, we want to receive a nomination that will allow us to recognize that person.”

Anyone can submit a nomination—a colleague, a family member, a friend; a local business, hospital or non-profit organization; fire departments and police departments; search and rescue; a member of the local media.
