DAILY FORECAST: Rain, snow and warmer temperatures

  Published at

IDAHO FALLS β€” The flood watch in eastern Idaho is in effect from 9 a.m. Saturday, March 4, until Monday, March 6.

Rainfall and rising temperatures will result in snow melt in the following counties: Bonneville, Madison, Bingham, Bannock, Jefferson, Butte, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida and Power. A more severe flood warning remains in effect in Minidoka County and in northern Utah, according to the National Weather Service.

Expect rapid snow melt that may cause pooling of water and flooded roadways at low water crossings. Some roads may become washed out, and homeowners situated in areas of poor drainage may experience flooding.

For the most part the Idaho Transportation Department reports roads are in good condition.

Idaho Highway 34 is listed as in fair condition Saturday morning with icy patches being reported between Soda Springs and the Wyoming State Line.

No major road closures or other major hazards are being reported as of 8 a.m. Saturday.
