ASOTIN, Washington — Authorities are investigating after a decomposed body with no head was found in the Snake River near Chief Timothy Park, Washington.

“We believe that it’s a male torso and limbs,” Sheriff John Hilderbrand told KLEW TV. “We have very little clothing… we also have male tennis shoes, size nine.”

The body was reportedly found Tuesday morning around 11:15 a.m. after it washed ashore. Jeans were still on the man.

“36-inch waist with a 30 inch in seam, so we’re looking at a five-foot-eight person,” said Hilderbrand. “Somewhere in that neighborhood.”

The body will be sent to Seattle for forensic testing. Authorities may be able to track a match if the man’s DNA is already in the system.

“Then we would decide if it’s natural, accidental, or homicide,” said Hilderbrand.
