‘Mulan’ director: ‘No decision has been made’ on music

Forget everything you know about the upcoming live-action version of “Mulan,” which is probably very little.

As the Deseret News reported, the upcoming “Mulan” live-action remake probably won’t have music.

“Yes, from what I understand, no songs right now, much to the horror of my children,” film’s director Niki Caro told MovieFone last week.

Similarly, Sean Bailey, Disney’s president of Motion Picture Production, also told Vulture that the film won’t have music.

“Mulan is clearly an empowered-female story but we can also do something new in this reimagining, make it a little more muscular, stronger, with touch of Ridley Scott,” Bailey told Vulture.

But Caro told The Los Angeles Times this week that there might be music after all.

Caro said she got trolled by fans because of the rumor of a lack of music. The intense feedback encouraged her to open up about the topic, according to The Times.

“I don’t know where that’s come from,” Caro told The Times. “We’ve never talked about songs, and no decision has been made.”

Caro said she’s excited about the “Mulan” project because the fans are so passionate.

So what songs will be in the live-action film?

According to The Huffington Post, it should include classics like “Reflection,” “A Girl Worth Fighting For,” “True to Your Heart” and “I’ll Make a Man Out of You.”
