UPDATE: Controlled access lifted at Pocatello/Chubbuck schools

UPDATE:

The controlled access has been lifted, and the threat has been resolved, according to the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25.

Pocatello Police Lt. Ian Nelson tells EastIdahoNews.com all juveniles involved in the “nonspecific threat” have been accounted for. School resource officers continue to investigate the threat, and no charges or arrested have been made as of Thursday morning.

Pocatello police say they take all threats seriously. In this case, school resource officers and school officials reacted immediately and quickly determined who made the threat and resolved it.

School officials say it’s now business as usual at Pocatello/Chubbuck schools.

POCATELLO — All schools in Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 are on “controlled access” because of a threat the district received this morning.

The threat was made by a juvenile over the phone, according to district spokeswoman Shelley Allen. Details of what was said have not been released.

“Controlled access” means traffic in and out of the building is being controlled, but classes continue as normal.

The Pocatello Police Department is investigating the threat. Parents have been notified.
