UPDATE: One woman hospitalized after crash on I-15

The following is a news release from the Idaho State Police.

On Friday, March 31, 2017, at approximately 12:24 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle, injury crash, on northbound Interstate 15 near milepost 86, in Bingham County.

Sylvia Ofori, age 27, of Pocatello, ID, was driving northbound on I15 in a 2003 Hyundai Sonata. A second involved vehicle changed lanes toward Ofori’s vehicle. To avoid impact Ofori drove off the left shoulder. Ofori’s vehicle continued through the median and rolled. Ofori was wearing a seat belt.

Ofori was transported by ground ambulance to the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, ID.

Both northbound lanes of travel were blocked for approximately fifteen minutes.

The investigation is ongoing.

BINGHAM COUNTY — Idaho State Police and emergency responders are on the scene of a one-vehicle injury crash on Interstate 15 south of Blackfoot.

Witnesses on the scene say the I-15 northbound lanes around mile marker 85 are closed, while southbound has been reduced to one lane.

Traffic is backed up for several miles in both directions.

Emergency crews are still on scene. It is unclear if anyone was transported.
