IDAHO FALLS — As construction crews were finalizing portions of the Idaho Falls River Walk pathway (formerly known as the greenbelt) a driver went off the road and crashed into a public restroom.

Larry Von Hudman, 61, of Bonneville County, was cited for failing to provide proof of insurance and misdemeanor inattentive driving.

Idaho Falls Police said Hudman was driving south on Riverside Drive just after 7 a.m. Tuesday when his red Chevy Silverado left the roadway near the roundabout.

Hudman told police he wasn’t paying attention at the time when he went off the road.

No injuries were reported. Hudman’s car received minor front end damage.

Part of the public restroom had been pushed off the foundation. The door to the men’s room was crushed and a brick facade was also damaged.

The cost to repair the restroom was not available as of Wednesday afternoon.
