EastIdahoNews.com nominated for Emmy award

SEATTLE — EastIdahoNews.com has been nominated for a 2017 Emmy award in the Crime — News category.
The award was announced by the National Academy of Television Arts & Science on Friday.
The nominated story — titled ‘The Sunday Bandit,’ was reported, produced and edited by Nate Eaton and shot by Stephan Rockefeller. It is one of three finalists in the Crime — News category. The other entries are ‘Misty Copsey Cold Case,’ by KOMO TV in Seattle, and ‘From Belize to Soap Lake, WA: A murder or suicide?’ by KING TV in Seattle.

Regional Emmy judges considered hundreds of entries that aired during 2016 in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Washington. EastIdahoNews.com is the only online news outlet to be nominated in any category.

This is the second year in a row EastIdahoNews.com has been nominated for an Emmy award. Our reporting on the disappearance of DeOrr Kunz Jr. was a finalist in the 2016 Continuing Coverage category.
The 2017 Emmy awards will be presented on June 3 during a gala in Seattle.
