I.F. man arrested for allegedly punching girlfriend, shoving her into wall

IDAHO FALLS — An Idaho Falls man was arrested early Friday morning for felony domestic battery and malicious injury to property.

Juan L. Malagon, 29, was booked into the Bonneville County Jail after police were called to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of Sunset Dr. around 12:50 a.m, according to a police news release.

The reporting party said Malagon punched his girlfriend in the face and shoved her into a wall and television. Police say the girlfriend sustained injuries to her face and the television, valued at $2,200, was broken.

Malagon of Idaho Falls was also booked into the Bonneville County Jail for assault, resisting arrest, providing false information to police and multiple Bonneville and Bingham county warrants.

Malagon and his girlfriend left prior to police arrival, according to a news release. Both were found in the 200 block of Wadsworth and authorities say Malagon attempted to hide from officers and resisted arrest as he fought with police.

The woman was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.

Malagon was also booked for assault, resisting arrest, providing false information to police and multiple Bonneville and Bingham county warrants.
