UPDATE: Man airlifted to EIRMC with unknown injuries

The Rigby Police Department released the following statement on Facebook Wednesday night.

“Ok Folks. We have been hearing a lot of speculation about the incident that occurred earlier this evening. Out of respect for the family and victim we will not be releasing any details. Other than these. No crime has been committed, no one in the community is in danger as it relates to this incident. Please keep comments and rumors down out of respect for the family. We will be releasing a statement on the topic later tomorrow.”

RIGBY — An individual was taken by air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon.

The injured individual has not been identified, nor have any details been released regarding the incident.

Central Fire District Assistant Chief Carl Anderson confirmed a Life Flight helicopter landed on the corner of State Street and Second South in Rigby at around 5 p.m. One individual was transported from the scene with unknown injuries.

The Rigby Police Department and Central Fire District were also on scene.

Some roads in the surrounding area have been closed off, according to witnesses.
