UPDATE:

Gary Thompson, 64, died due to injuries sustained in the crash late Saturday night, according to officials at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Timothy Kostial, 52, is listed as in serious condition as of Sunday morning.

ORIGINAL STORY:

JEFFERSON COUNTY — Two men were airlifted to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center this evening after a crash on North 3950 East.

Jefferson County Sheriff Steve Anderson tells EastIdahoNews.com 52-year-old Timothy Kostial lost control of his 1999 Ford F150 pickup truck around 6:10 p.m. and exited the road. Anderson says Kostial then overcorrected, causing the truck to overturn near 530 North.

Kostial and his passenger, 64-year-old Gary Thompson, were both ejected from the truck. They were not wearing seat belts, according to Anderson, and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

Two medical helicopters landed near the crash and each carried a different patient to the hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Rigby Police Department and Central Fire District responded to the scene.
