RIGBY — Police are searching for the driver of a pickup that slammed into another truck Sunday night.

Troy Kaaiakamanu, of Rigby, called police around 9:40 to report a hit-and-run near the Anderson ball field on the 100 block of West Second North in Rigby.

“My three daughters were out sitting in another truck bed when a red Dodge crashed into my work truck that was parked on the street,” Kaaiakamanu tells EastIdahoNews.com. “They saw the crash. They said the truck backed up and then took off.”

Kaaiakamanu says a neighbor saw the truck leaving the area.

“We weren’t sure what kind of truck it was, but decals fell off the truck,” he said.

Kaaiakamanu says the decals found identified it as a Dodge 2500.

Kaaiakamanu turned to the “Man Stuff Sell and Trade Idaho” Facebook group for help.

“I’m pretty pissed right now and hoping this awesome group can help me,” he wrote. “My work truck was sideswiped in front of my house tonight. If anyone sees a red Dodge Ram 2500 with the passenger side completely damaged, LET ME KNOW. Possible Idaho wildlife plates, male driver. Thanks happened on West 2nd North in Rigby just west of the ball diamonds.”

Police found the truck around 10:15 Monday morning, but have not yet located the driver.

Kaaiakamanu says his truck sustained more than $7,000 in damages.
