The following is a news release from the city of Idaho Falls.

IDAHO FALLS — On Friday, June 2, the city of Idaho Falls will make a change in the traffic control at the intersection of 4th Street and South Freeman Avenue. Fourth Street will now be required to stop at South Freeman Avenue. South Freeman Avenue will become the through street.

A recent traffic study showed that traffic patterns, accident history and other factors indicate the need for the traffic pattern change. The change will be consistent with other intersecting roadways along the South Freeman Avenue corridor.

Stop signs will be removed on South Freeman Avenue. This will be followed by new stop signs installed, as well as stop lines and the word “STOP” painted on the east and west legs of 4th Street.

Please watch for equipment and workers, follow all traffic signs and flaggers, and reduce speeds to posted limits.
