Two Jefferson County Employees receive written disciplinary notice

  Published at

RIGBY — The Jefferson County Commissioners decided to take disciplinary action Monday against two Jefferson County Lake employees following a harassment investigation.

Commissioners Scott Hancock, Fred Martinez and Brian Farnsworth voted to place written disciplinary notices in the employees personnel files. Details of information contained on the notices and the names of the employees were not released.

The decision came after the commissioners went into executive session for nearly 45 minutes to discuss the matter.

Jefferson County Prosecutor Paul Butikofer confirmed to EastIdahoNews.com last week that his office conducted an investigation after an employee reported misconduct.

“It was a personnel action of which is not public record nor should it ever be public record,” Chairman Farnsworth said during Monday’s meeting. “There was misrepresentations given to the commissioners of various supposed acts…Proper steps were immediately taken in, what I believe, to be a fair matter.”
