Bonneville School Dist. 93 employees to get eclipse day off

IDAHO FALLS — Employees in Bonneville Joint School District 93 will get August 21 off to enjoy the total solar eclipse.

Superintendent Charles Shackett says the date will be treated as a “snow day” for classified employees and all employees will not be required to work.

The change won’t affect students as elementary and middle schoolers don’t begin attending classes until Aug. 29. The first day of school for high school students in Aug. 30.

Other school districts in east Idaho are making preparations for the expected influx of people in the area on eclipse day

The first day of school for students and employees in the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District will be delayed from Aug. 21 to Aug. 23.
