IDAHO FALLS — Nearly 8,000 Rocky Mountain customers are without power as of noon Wednesday.
The outages, which began at 11:30 a.m., are affecting customers in Ashton, St. Anthony, Warm River, Rexburg, Sugar City, Ucon, Ririe and Rigby.
Rocky Mountain Power officials say an interruption in the transmission line caused the outage. It is unclear, though, what caused the interruption.
Crews are actively working on repairing the outage, and power is being gradually restored.
No estimate has been given for complete restoration.
