Teen injured after being struck by float at Independence Day Parade

IDAHO FALLS — A 15-year-old girl sustained non-life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a parade float during the Idaho Falls Independence Day Parade.

Idaho Falls spokeswoman Kerry Hammon says the teen was participating in the parade on a float. At one point she jumped off the float and when she tried to get back on she was struck by the vehicle.

Idaho Falls Police officers and Idaho Falls Fire EMS, who were already at the parade, responded to treat the girl.

Witnesses tell EastIdahoNews.com the teen injured her ankle.

She was patched up and transported by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
