IDAHO FALLS — Drivers are experiencing major slowdowns on Interstate 15 between Idaho Falls and Pocatello.

The crawling traffic is partially the result of road construction work. The roadway between Exit 80 to Fort Hall and Exit 93 to U.S. Highway 26 has been reduced to one lane. Speed limits of 65 mph are in force.

There is similar construction work between Exit 63 to Portneuf Road and Exit 71 to Interstate 15 Business. The roadway is reduced to one lane due to road and bridge construction work.

The Idaho Transportation Department says the road construction has caused a 5-10 delay as of 5:00 p.m. The roadway is reduced to one lane. Road construction work is in progress. Bridge construction work is in progress. Speed limits of 55 mph are in force.

Idaho State Police were also responding to two minor accidents at 4:30 p.m. Friday. No one was injured in either crash, but they did impact traffic.

The East Idaho State Fair is also increasing traffic on I-15 , which is adding to the congestion.
