Freeze warning issued for Idaho Falls, Rexburg and Pocatello

  Published at

IDAHO FALLS — A cold front is headed to eastern Idaho Saturday that will bring scattered cold rain showers in valleys and snow showers in areas of higher elevations.

During the afternoon, winds will increase to between 15 to 25 mph and continue into Sunday.

Snow and rain will continue on Sunday and temperatures will drop even more. The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning starting Sunday night through Monday morning.

During that period, temperatures will drop to between 28 to 32 degrees. Lower temperatures are possible during breaks in cloud cover.

Cloud cover and wind should prevent frost from developing, but officials say some plants may still be at risk.

The freeze watch will impact the following communities: Burley, Rupert, Heyburn, Idaho Falls, Rexburg and Pocatello. The cold front will impact all of eastern and central Idaho.
