Idaho Falls man hurt in crash near American Falls

The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.

AMERICAN FALLS — On Monday, September 25, at 2:38 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash northbound on SH39 at mile marker 1, north of American Falls.

Bryan A. Goede, 34, of Idaho Falls, was driving northbound on SH39 in a 2016 Toyota Prius. Michael G. Hess, 64, of Pocatello, was driving southbound on SH39 in a 2001 Kenworth semi-truck pulling a trailer. Goede attempted to turn onto Hillcrest Avenue failing to yield to Hess and the semi-truck struck the front end of the Prius.

Goede was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported by ground ambulance to Power County Hospital in American Falls. Hess was wearing his seatbelt and was not transported.
