Montana firefighter: I don’t think the fires will stop until the snow flies

FAIRFIELD, Montana — Over 40 fires are currently burning in Montana and there doesn’t seem to be any relief in sight.

Hundreds of firefighters from all over the country have been battling the fires since July and so far nearly one million acres have burned.

EastIdahoNews.com reporter Nate Eaton spoke with Ben Watson, a full-time school teacher who spent his summer fighting fires. Watson says the conditions have been so extreme that he doesn’t believe the fires will stop “until the snow flies” and he plans to continue fight fires on weekends until all of the Montana fires are out.
