AMMON — Bonneville County Sheriff investigators are searching for a suspect who was wearing a skull mask while robbing Zion’s Bank on 25th East and Sunnyside Road Tuesday afternoon.

Students at nearby Sandcreek Middle School and Hillcrest High School were put on lockdown for about 30 minutes as a safety precaution.

Bonneville Joint School District 93 spokesman Phil Campbell said the school went into lockdown after a resource officer heard the report of the crime and that a suspect had fled on foot with a weapon or explosive device in the direction of the schools.

The lockdown ended after detectives were sure the suspect was not nearby, according to Bonneville County Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Bryan Lovell.
