UPDATE: Juvenile taken to hospital after 5 vehicle crash on I-15

IDAHO FALLS — On Saturday, Oct. 7, at approximately 1:23 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a five-vehicle crash southbound on I-15 near milepost 129, north of the Osgood Road exit, in Jefferson County.

Robert M. Foley Jr, 69, of Basin, MT, was driving a Dodge pickup pulling a trailer with a Harley Davidson motorcycle on it.

Kenneth A. Richardson, 74, of Butte, MT, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup.

Wade D. Chappell, 28, of Aurora, UT, was driving a 1996 Ford F250 pickup pulling a boat trailer with a boat.

Maris R. Cundith, 56, of Helena, MT, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban.

Thomas M. Weida, 45, of Helena, MT, was driving a 2013 Toyota Avalon.

All drivers were driving southbound on I-15.

Foley slowed for a vehicle that was in the lane in front of him. Richardson’s vehicle struck the rear of Foley’s vehicle. Chappell’s vehicle struck the rear of Richardson’s vehicle. Cundith’s vehicle struck the rear of Chappell’s vehicle. Weida struck Foley’s vehicle.

Weida’s juvenile passenger was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Medical Center in Idaho Falls. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.

The northbound and southbound lanes are still blocked due to the dust storm. All vehicles have been removed from the roadway.

Idaho State Police was assisted by the Idaho Transportation Department.
