UPDATE: One person in critical condition after rollover crash on US 20 Thursday
Published at | Updated atREXBURG — Madison County Sheriff’s deputies have determined Thursday night’s rollover crash north of Rexburg was caused by fatigue.
Police reports show the driver, Akivasha Lopez-Ortega, 18, was traveling on U.S. Highway 20 when she fell asleep, resulting in the vehicle rolling.
Lopez-Ortega was flown by air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was in critical condition as of 9:30 a.m. Friday.
A 19-year-old male passenger in the vehicle, whose name has not been verified, was taken to Madison Memorial Hospital by ground ambulance. His condition is unknown at this time.
