Bingham County will not join CEI’s taxing district
Published atBLACKFOOT — Bingham County residents resoundingly voted not to join the College of Eastern Idaho’s taxing district Tuesday.
The question to join failed with a 61 percent of voters not in favor of the measure — a total of 3,046 votes — and only 39 percent (1,964 voters) of voters in favor of joining.

As a result the county will continue to be billed on a quarterly basis $50 per credit per student enrolled in the college from Bingham County. Property taxes will not be affected.
Bonneville County will remain the only county in CEI’s college’s taxing district.
