IDAHO FALLS — A man was rushed to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Saturday morning after a school bus and a green pickup truck collided.

Witnesses told police the Teton School District 401 bus ran a red light at the intersection of Skyline Drive and Broadway Street before impacting the truck, according to Idaho Falls spokeswoman Kerry Hammon.

The bus was full of kids, however, none of them were injured or transported.

The driver of the pickup was another story though. He needed to be extricated from his vehicle due to the severe damage. The pickup initially caught on fire, however, it was put out before the Idaho Falls Fire Department arrived thanks to five citizens that jumped in to help the man.

The extent of the man’s injuries are unknown at this time.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story indicated the bus struck the truck. Authorities have confirmed it was the other way around.
