AMMON — Power should be restored to about 2,900 customers in the Ammon and Iona area by 11 p.m. at the latest, according to Rocky Mountain Power spokesman Spencer Hall.
The outage started at about 8:20 p.m. Monday, and was the result of a deteriorating power line that went down, Hall said. The majority of customers who lost power live near the intersection of Lincoln Road and Ammon Road.
Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Bryan Lovell confirmed the downed line is responsible for the outage, and deputies are redirecting traffic around the area.
Rocky Mountain Power reports crews have been dispatched to fix the line and restore power.
