Blackfoot man pleads guilty to sexually abusing a minor

BLACKFOOT — A local man has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a young girl.
Dustin Davis, 40, was originally facing multiple charges of lewd conduct and sexual battery of a minor. Those charges were amended to one charge of sexual abuse of a minor under 16. The change came as part of a plea agreement Davis entered into on Feb. 16.
Davis is facing up to 25 years in prison and a maximum $50,000 fine. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 3.

According to court documents, Davis sexually abused the victim from when she was 11-years-old to when she was 16. After the accusations against Davis were made both he and the victim’s mother called the victim a liar.
The victim told police Davis offered her rewards for sex acts. Documents show the victim also said Davis physically assaulted her and threatened her.
