ST. ANTHONY — The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an individual for transporting more than 10 pounds of marijuana.

Deputies responded to the scene of a slide-off car crash at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 20, according to a news release.

During an investigation of the slide-off, a deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana. Due to the driver having a suspended license and providing false information, the driver was arrested and booked into the Fremont County Jail.

The identity of the driver has not been released pending an appearance in court, office spokeswoman Anna Pearson told EastIdahoNews.com.

The person’s vehicle was towed and a search warrant was issued for the vehicle. The search produced 84.4 grams of methamphetamine and 10.23 pounds of marijuana.

The driver is expected to appear in court today. More details are expected to be released later.
