Man arrested for brandishing gun, growing marijuana in Idaho Falls home
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS — A man was arrested on multiple charges Sunday after police were called to the 1100 block of Idaho Ave. around 11:30 a.m.
A witness called 911 and reported that the man was brandishing a gun. Officers responded and found 40-year-old Michael Scott Allen hiding in the basement of a home.
They also discovered a marijuana growing operation, according to police spokeswoman Holly Cook, and two kids were inside home.
Allen was arrested for felony aggravated assault and felony manufacturing a controlled substance with children present. He also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on charges of invalid driver’s license and consuming or possessing an open container of alcohol.
