RIGBY — A 27-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Tuesday evening after crashing into a house.

The man, who has not been identified, was driving a 2007 Kia Rio at about 10 p.m. when he went off the road and struck a house on the 200 block of West 1st South.

The man was not wearing a seat belt and sustained serious head injuries, according to Rigby Police Chief Sam Tower.

No one inside the home was injured, although major damage was caused to the residence by the vehicle.

The incident is being investigated as a possible driving under the influence case.

Tower said the man is expected to be charged when he is released from the hospital with either reckless driving or possibly a DUI.
