ASHTON — The Idaho Transportation Department has closed two highways north of Island Park due to snowfall, high winds and low visibility.

U.S. Highway 20 is closed just north of Island Park until the Montana border. Idaho Highway 87, which branches off US 20 near Henry’s Lake, is also closed between the junction and the Montana border, according to ITD.

It’s unclear when the two highways will reopen.

Idaho Highway 32 between Ashton and Tetonia, which was closed most of Saturday and Sunday, is open again as of 10 a.m. Monday.

The winter storm warning has expired in eastern Idaho, however, a storm warning is still in effect in northern Utah.

Travelers going south could see between 4 to 7 inches until about 5 p.m. High winds of 30 mph are also expected in northern Utah, which will create difficult driving conditions.
