Winter weather advisory issued for most of Idaho
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS — A winter storm coming in from the Pacific Ocean will spread snow and wind across the state and into southeast Idaho Saturday and Sunday.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for almost the entire state as a result. The advisory ends at 6 a.m. Sunday.
In eastern and central Idaho, the valleys and lower elevations can expect between 1 and 4 inches of snow.

Higher elevations areas and mountain passes will see between 3 and 8 inches of snow with localized amounts up to 12 inches, according to NWS.
Snow will increase in intensity this afternoon and evening. Strong winds, combined with the snowfall, means some near-white conditions are possible along interstates and roadways.
The Idaho Department of Transportation is already reporting difficult road conditions on major highways in Fremont, Madison, Teton, Clark, Jefferson, Caribou, Franklin, and Lemhi counties.
