RIGBY — A a preliminary hearing for a couple accused of sexually abusing a child and taking photos of the abuse has been postponed.

Joseph Harris, 30, and Elizabeth Evans, 27, appeared in a Jefferson County courtroom Thursday and agreed to continue their hearings for one week. Officials say they need more time to go over key points of the investigation and finalize reports that are continuing to come in.

Evans has been charged with aiding or abetting lewd conduct, and sexual exploitation of a child. Harris is charged with one count of lewd conduct with a minor under sixteen, and two counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

Jefferson and Bonneville County deputies confiscated three mobile devices from the residence after receiving a search warrant to an Idaho Falls home. Investigators found a disturbing image of a 4-year-old engaging in a sex act with Harris. Court documents show the image of child pornography, found among other pornographic images of the two adults, was taken by Evans.

Both Evans and Harris admitted to being high during the incident. They are scheduled to appear for their next court hearing on March 29.
