UPDATE:

After sweeping the interior and exterior of the Home Depot building, the Region 7 Bomb Squad did not find any evidence of an explosive or anything suspicious, IFPD spokeswoman Holly Cook said.

Law enforcement has cleared the scene, Home Depot has reopened and the employees are back at work.

ORIGINAL STORY:

IDAHO FALLS — The Home Depot on South Holmes Avenue in Idaho Falls was evacuated shortly after 10 a.m. Thursday due to a bomb threat.

Idaho Falls Police spokeswoman Holly Cook said a bomb threat was made to the business over the phone by an unknown individual using an out-of-state number. That number has now been disconnected.

The Idaho Falls Police bomb squad is at the scene and will be doing a sweep of the building for potential explosives.

Police have blocked off entrances to the Home Depot parking lot.

It’s unclear if the business will reopen today. The decision will be left up to management unless police find evidence of criminal activity.

EastIdahoNews.com will post more details as they become available.
