Unknown gas leak at Plum Loco, business closed for the day

IDAHO FALLS — The Idaho Falls Fire Department responded to call of a gas leak at a local restaurant Thursday morning, before the business opened.

The call came in around 11 a.m. and two units responded to Plum Loco on Cliff Street. An Intermountain Gas Company representative responded to the scene as well.

IFFD Spokeswoman Kerry Hammon said fire crews are still determining what the substance is, as the type of gas is unknown. She said it may be coming from an appliance.

Crews are still on the scene.

A notice on the door says Plum Loco is closed for the day as crews work behind the business in the alleyway. Nearby businesses have been evacuated for safety.
