Sex offender arrested again for alleged sex crime with minor: “I will never be cured”

IDAHO FALLS — A man convicted of a sex crime in Madison County nearly two decades ago has been arrested and charged with molesting a teenage relative.

Justin Dee Jensen, 40, was found guilty of felony sexual abuse of a minor under 16 in Oct. 2000. He was sentenced to three years fixed and nine years indeterminate. The court retained jurisdiction and he was put on a 120-day rider program by the late District Judge Brent Moss. After completing the rider he was put on probation for 10 years.

Jensen was arrested on March 6 and charged with sexual battery of a minor child with the victim being 17-years-old.

According to court documents, the victim told police Jensen has been touching her in inappropriate places including her breasts under her clothing and her inner thigh area.

When questioned by police, Jensen said that he was “massaging” her because she was hurting. He didn’t say why he believed she was hurting.

According to documents, the victim said he would allegedly call her over to sit next to him or on his lap. He would then massage her neck and back and then move his hands to inappropriate places. She said she didn’t tell him that this made her uncomfortable or report the abuse to adults because she did not want him to become upset.

EastIdahoNews.com obtained court documents concerning Jensen’s first conviction. The victim was 12-years-old when he began sexually abusing her and he was not arrested until after she turned 14.

Jensen wrote a letter to Moss after he had completed the rider program.

“I appreciate what you’ve done for me by sending me to Cottonwood,” Jensen says in the letter. “It has given me a chance to change myself in many ways. I’ve been working hard at these changes.”

When questioned by police about his previous conviction, Jensen said he knows he “will never be cured.”

Jensen is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on March 21. He is being held in the Bonneville County Jail on $50,000 bond.
