UPDATE: Police release mugshot of man accused of killing 75-year-old woman

CHALLIS — A man accused of shooting and killing a 75-year-old woman made his first court appearance in Custer County Monday morning.
Mark Charles Wilson, 53, is accused of murdering Patricia “Pat” Ann Brown. Police say Wilson called 911 around 3:10 p.m. Saturday to report that he had shot Brown in the head, according to a news release from the Custer County Sheriff’s Office.
Brown, a well-known member of the Challis community, was pronounced dead at the Challis Area Health Center later that evening.
When Custer County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene, Wilson was still there and surrendered to law enforcement.
He was taken into custody and is being held on $1 million bond.
