Winter weather advisory in effect throughout Eastern Idaho
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS – The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 5 a.m. Sunday morning.
Heavy snowfall and wind is expected throughout the region–including Idaho Falls, Rexburg, Rigby and Pocatello.
One to 3 inches of snow are predicted in the lower elevation areas–including Idaho Falls, Rexburg, Rigby and Pocatello. Up to 2 inches are expected in the southern parts of the state–including Burley, Rupert and Hayburn.

Conditions are expected to improve this afternoon, with additional showers expected to develop tonight.
Snow showers may cause difficult traveling conditions along the I-15 corridor. Sunday morning may bring a little snow, with only a slight chance of precipitation.
Winds gusting up to 15 mph are predicted throughout eastern Idaho. The wind, combined with snowfall, may create blowing snow and poor visibility on many highways.
The National Weather Service is reminding drivers to be safe on the roads. Watch your speed along major highways and intersections.
